So this evening I was outside the Duane Reade in my neighborhood, and I walked right past a guy wearing a New York Observer t-shirt. Which seemed extra cool to me because my neighborhood is not in New York, but Jersey City. So I stopped him and I was like, “The New York Observer! I used to work there.” And he was like, “Oh cool! What’s your name?” And I told him and he said he knew my byline. And then I was like, “This is SO weird, because I just went jogging in MY New York Observer t-shirt like, two hours ago!” (I mean, funny right? “You don’t see many salmon-colored t-shirts around here,” his female companion remarked. Though mine is gray. But whatever.) So he told me he also was a reporter and asked me if I ever wrote for The Observer anymore, and I was like, “No, but I am writing for this great new website that two of my former editors just started. You should check it out!” And he said that he in fact had already checked it out and commented on some of the articles. Hear that, @CapitalNewYork? You’ve crossed the Hudson! Just thought you might like to know.
